Bloodhound accidentally runs half-marathon, finishes in seventh place

Cute Stories

Well if you think you have heard it all then wait till you read this one. If you ran for charity, to keep fit or to win a prize, would you still run if a dog ran alongside you or would you stop and take pictures? Well, this is a story of an adorable 2-year-old bloodhound named Ludivine that lied to the owner about going to take a leak then found herself on the track.

It was a normal half marathon in Alabama held on 16th of January but things took a different turn when Ludivine got involved. The pup was just let by her owner to go out and do what she does when she is pressed. She was, however, interested in a different activity that day. She stood at the starting point and waited for the shot like any other runner before she took off.

Other runners were amazed and had to keep their legs moving. But like any other dog that likes to multitask, Ludivine did not fully concentrate on the race. At some point, she would stop and sniff some animal carcasses then proceed with the race.

It also came as a shocker that a dog would stay on the course for 13.1 miles, something other capable runners were unable to. And that’s not all, Ludivine finished seventh and was given a medal by the organizers of the race for beating other 158 runners. In fact, she was the highest placed female of the race.

According to the race director, Gretta Armstrong, the dog was not your ordinary dog. One would expect that the owner was a runner or something. Because how can a dog be this fit if it doesn’t normally run. Well, it was funny to learn that the owner doesn’t even run and has never participated in any marathon.
